Getting there: Taxi fare from the airport to the Westmark Anchorage Hotel is $16-$25. At the South (domestic) Terminal, the taxi stand is at the ground-transportation area outside baggage claim. At the North (international) Terminal, the stand is directly outside the lobby. Several shuttle companies serve the airport; guests should call in advance to reserve a ride. One-way fare is $5-$15 per person.
Getting around: Downtown is laid out in a grid. Numbered avenues run east-west. Streets with letter names run north-south, with A Street at the east end. Most downtown destinations are within a 10-block area, easily walkable when the weather permits.
People Mover buses serve the city. The fare is $1.75 per adult or $2.50 for an all-day pass, and weekend service is limited. A stop is across from the hotel. For excursions beyond downtown, rental cars offer the most convenience and flexibility, and are available online.
